TVS Raider Super Squad Edition Launched in India at ₹99,465: A Marvel-Themed Motorcycle for Style and Practicality

TVS Motor Company continues the trend of excitement in the commuter motorcycle segment with the Raider Super Squad Edition. Priced at ₹99,465 (ex-showroom), this new edition not only updates the styling, allowing for another layer of appeal to the Raider, but the design also draws from some of the most beloved pop culture influences, choosing to feature two of Marvel’s most iconic characters, Deadpool and Wolverine.

Superhero style

The key attraction of the Raider Super Squad Edition is its unique stylings. TVS has partnered with Marvel to bring comic book charm to two wheels, with a focus on younger riders and motorcycle enthusiasts, who are fun and care about individualism in their two-wheels.

Deadpool color and style: This variant comes in a standout black and red color scheme, staying true to the character’s cheeky yet rebellious nature. The graphics incorporate bold lines and accents that immediately stand out.

Wolverine Theme: For fans of the adamantium-clawed mutant, the second variant showcases a light blue and black combination. The sharp design cues mimic Wolverine’s iconic suit, giving the bike an aggressive and powerful aura.

Both editions ensure that the Raider Super Squad is not just another commuter but a machine that resonates with style-conscious and pop-culture-savvy riders.

Feature Highlights

The Super Squad Edition is more than just cosmetic. TVS has equipped the bike with its latest iGO assist system and Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology, both of which are designed to make everyday riding more convenient.

iGO Assist System: Offers smooth starts and better low-speed management, particularly useful in crowded city conditions.

GTT Technology: Allows the motorcycle to crawl forward in traffic without throttle input, reducing fatigue for riders in stop-and-go conditions.

These features underline TVS’s intention of blending practicality with innovation in its 125cc motorcycle portfolio.

Engine and Performance

Underneath the stylish superhero-inspired graphics, the Raider Super Squad Edition continues with the proven 124.8cc, air-and-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 11.22 bhp and 11.3 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox.

However, TVS has added the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) system, which provides a short-term torque boost in Power mode, increasing torque to 11.75 Nm. This not only enhances responsiveness but also contributes to improved efficiency. According to TVS, fuel economy has been improved by nearly 10% compared to other Raider variants, making the Super Squad both fun and economical.

Ride and Handling

The motorcycle has retained its familiar mechanical specification that we loved from the Raider range. The raft has telescopic front forks and monoshock at the rear which is tuned to passionately balance comfort and agility. Stopping duties go to a disc brake at the front and a drum at the back – uncomplicated yet effective. 17 inch alloy wheels sum up stability and confidence across urban and semi urban roads.

Positioning In The Raider Line Up

Following the launch of the Super Squad Edition, the TVS Raider lineup now includes six new variants, from the base model,  to the top-end SX variant. The Super Squad fits just below the SX trim, giving buyers the option of premium style without spending too much money.

Market Impact and Appeal

TVS has long used special editions of its commuter motorcycles to bring excitement and freshness to the lineup, and the Raider Super Squad is simply an extension of this strategy. The motorcycle is clearly aimed at younger riders, marketing performance, fuel efficiency, and superhero styling in a complete package. At below ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom), it is an attractive proposition to buyers looking for a commuter with a personality.

Additionally, with India’s motorcycle market heavily skewed in the direction of style-conscious buyers, the Marvel collaboration gives TVS an opportunity to break away from rivals in the 125cc commuter segment. Competitors such as the Honda SP 125, Hero Glamour Xtec and Bajaj Pulsar 125 are all practical commuting options, but the Raider Super Squad Edition offers a unique design identity.
