Yamaha Launches 2025 MT-15 Version 2.0 With Advanced Tech And Bold New Colours

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has officially rolled out the much-anticipated 2025 MT-15 Version 2.0, reinforcing its presence in the premium street-naked segment with cutting-edge technology updates and a refreshed palette of striking new colours. Under the banner of its signature ‘The Call of the Blue’ campaign, Yamaha continues to engage the next generation of riders with machines that merge innovation, performance, and style.

The new MT-15 Version 2.0 will be available in two variants, starting at ₹1.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), offering riders across India an evolved riding experience anchored in tech sophistication and youthful aesthetics.

Next-Gen tech and Rider-Focused Ergonomics

The biggest addition to the 2025 model is the 9.2-inch full-colour TFT (Thin Film Transistor) display bringing premium digital instrumentation to this very popular naked streetfighter lineup. The TFT display is now capable of Turn-by-Turn Navigation, which is a welcomed improvement by the MT community, and one that many have asked for continuity of connectivity and assistance on the go.

Also riding along with this naked streetfighter display is Bluetooth integration through Yamaha’s Y-Connect mobile app, which now provides the rider with a myriad of features. From Maintenance Recommendations, Last Parking Location, Fuel Consumption Tracker, Malfunction Notifications, Revs Dashboard, and Riders Riding Stats (the last two features allows riders to measure their riding performance within the Yamaha ranks).

Vibrant New Colours Reflect Urban Aggression

For 2025, Yamaha has expanded the MT-15’s appeal with the introduction of three new bold and expressive colours. The DLX variant will now be offered in Ice Storm—a globally popular hue now available in India for the first time—and Vivid Violet Metallic, both designed to capture attention on city streets. These are offered alongside the existing Metallic Black. The standard variant also gets a vibrant update with the new Metallic Silver Cyan, enhancing the MT’s aggressive streetfighter stance and youthful persona.

Powertrain and Engineering Excellence

Under the hood, the MT-15 continues to be powered by the tried-and-tested 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). This setup produces 18.4 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm, ensuring a responsive throttle and an exhilarating performance that suits both city commutes and spirited weekend rides.

The six-speed gearbox is equipped with an Assist & Slipper Clutch, which provides smoother shifts and prevents rear-wheel hop when downshifting aggressively– a bonus feature for novice and experienced riders alike. The addition of a Traction Control System (TCS), enhances stability and rider confidence when the conditions are less than ideal for riding.

Chassis Dynamics Inspired by MotoGP

With MotoGP as the inspiration, the 2025 MT-15 Version 2.0 has an aluminium swingarm, which is the only one in its class, and further enhances cornering stability and handling performance. Riding the bike, I found that I was able to handle the bike effortlessly and seamlessly, thanks to Yamaha’s patented Delta Box frame, which offers more flexibility to deliver a chassis that delivers the perfect blend of stiffness and toughness. At a mere 141 kg, the motorcycle was agile and nimble when it came time to maneuver through city traffic, or hitting the apex while carving up twisties on the open road!

Customer-Centric Approach and Market Response

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, noted:

“The MT-15 Version 2.0 has earned a loyal following for its aggressive design and dynamic performance. With the 2025 update, we’ve listened closely to our customers—delivering highly requested tech upgrades and fresh colours that speak to the evolving tastes of India’s young riders. We remain committed to pushing boundaries and offering motorcycles that blend thrill, practicality, and innovation.”
