Tata Motors strengthens presence in Qatar with the launch of all-new LPO 1622 bus

Sets new benchmarks in staff transport with Euro VI technology, superior comfort, and low total cost of ownership

Reinforcing its strategic commitment to the Middle East, Tata Motors, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, has launched the all-new LPO 1622 staff bus in Qatar, in partnership with its authorised distributor Al Hamad Automobiles. With this launch, Tata Motors is bringing its first Euro VI compliant bus to the market, setting the benchmark in fuel efficiency, performance, and passenger-friendly features.

The LPO 1622 is purpose-built specifically for staff transportation and is designed to deliver the highest levels of performance, ongoing value, and an ownership experience that is second to none.

The product is powered by the Cummins ISBe 5.6L Euro VI engine, producing 220 hp and 925 Nm of torque, combining excellent performance with cutting-edge safety features like ESC, Hill Start Assist, ABS, and Cruise Control.

Two seating options – 65-seater and 61-seater – provide operational flexibility, while features like heavy-duty suspension, tubeless radial tyres, and multimode driving modes ensure a smooth and stable ride across varying road and weather conditions.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Asif Shamim, Head – International Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, stated,

“Qatar remains a pivotal market for us in the Middle East. The launch of the all-new LPO 1622 is a significant step in expanding our product offerings in the region. Designed for high efficiency, passenger comfort, and profitability, the bus is backed by a robust after-sales ecosystem to ensure long-term reliability and maximum uptime.”

Mr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of Al Hamad Automobiles, added,

“Our partnership with Tata Motors continues to evolve with the introduction of such advanced mobility solutions. Through our extensive service network and ready availability of genuine spares, we are committed to supporting customers with enhanced operational continuity and service excellence.”

In addition to the LPO 1622, Tata Motors in Qatar also exhibited a wider range of Euro V-compliant Prima heavy trucks – including the Prima 4040.K, 4440.S, 4040.T, and 6040.S, to cater to the demands of Qatar’s developing infrastructure and construction activities.

Tata Motors operates in over 40 international markets and offers a wide range of commercial vehicles, from sub-1-tonne cargo carriers to 71-seater buses, and all products are developed as per the company’s R&D and quality-tested to fit each market’s operational requirements.
